Chinese Army in 15mm - Part IV

It’s been a while since I last posted, as Summer classes took up much of my time, but I’ve made up for it by finishing the first Chinese company, totaling 18 stands. Unfortunately, the photo quality isn’t that great.

I still need to add some foliage and shrubbery, but they'll do for now.

I also did up some MG support. For this, I used Battlefront’s Finnish Maxim platoon, replacing the wheeled Sokolov mount for a tripod, turning them into the Chinese Type 24.

I have also begun on the second company. I wanted some variety, and was getting tired of cutting puttees, so I decided to use some, albeit modified, Romanians. They already have puttees, so no issue there, but they did require some head transplants. For this, I used Peter Pig’s WWII British helmet heads and WWI British peaked hat heads.

The Chinese had purchased American and British ‘battle bowlers’ in the 30’s, before the German helmets, and these could still be found in 1937.

Similarly, the Chinese peaked hat, which predated the German style forage hat, was still being worn at the start of the war, particularly by northern troops.

The weapons used by the Romanians are also ideal: their vz. 24 rifle and zb. 26 lmg were widely used by the Chinese.

Battalion of the Auspicious Pig

After almost a year, my Chinese battalion is finally done! While I may add another rifle company and more supporting elements later...
